Muscle Activation Techniques Now at Club One!

Muscle Activation Techniques (MAT) is a dynamic muscular assessment system that analyzes and corrects muscular imbalances. It has been successful in the reduction and elimination of pain and fatigue, as well
as enhancing muscle recovery in athletes and non-athletes alike. This unique method was developed by Greg Roskopf, a biomechanics expert who has worked as a consultant for the Denver Broncos, Denver Nuggets and the Utah Jazz. For more information, please visit www.muscleactivation.com.

Muscle Activation Techniques is for people who have:

  • Muscular tightness
  • Scar tissue
  • Muscular weakness
  • Adhesions
  • Joint irritation
  • Inflammation
  • Loss of mobility
  • Balance Problems
  • Post surgical recovery
  • Impaired Performance
  • Fatigue

The symptoms above indicate muscular compensations. Through systematic assessment, and hands-on treatment, MAT corrects these muscular imbalances and can bring relief from recurring or chronic pain.

MAT differs from other bodywork modalities and personal training protocols in that it looks for compensation patterns in how the body moves. Most people are aware that muscles can be strengthened in
a number of ways, but overlook the fact that the body is excellent at compensation and substitution. The problem with many therapeutic and corrective exercise programs is that they strengthen muscles that are already strong while the weak or injured muscles remain weak, further magnifying the imbalance and putting stress on other tissues. MAT specialists improve the feedback from the central nervous system to muscles improving body function and turning weak links into useable functional resources.

Only a MAT certified specialist can perform Muscle Activation Techniques.
Our certified specialists have completed the rigorous MAT 10-month internship with over 300 hours of required coursework and over 500 hours of hands-on experience. MAT specialists have proven through both practical application and written examination that they are thoroughly qualified to identify and treat the biomechanical imbalances that relate
to pain or injury. Our MAT specialists have also completed the Muscle Activation Techniques Jumpstart Courses, a separate program designed for personal trainers to identify and correct muscular imbalances.

MAT testimonials:

“After severely damaging both my ankles years ago, running was never an option for me. To run even a mile was absolutely torturous and utterly painful. However, after only a few sessions of MAT, I felt mobility in my ankles that I have not felt in years. Stacey's understanding of body movement and in-depth knowledge of the different muscle groups have allowed me to achieve what I thought was an impossible task. I am now consistently running 2-3 times a week with little to no pain, and I am currently training to run a half marathon in October.” –Tracy C

“The MAT work linked so well with my fitness training I get – they have put me in better shape than I have been in years and dramatically improved my driving stamina so that I may compete on the track with 20 year olds.” –Andre G, 51

“I have been suffering with rib and hip pain/tenderness for two years. The pain felt like bruises, which caused discomfort while sitting and sleeping. I haven't felt normal for so long I was starting to accept this as a way of being and two orthopedic surgeons, two physical therapists and 2 MRI's were of no help. Stacey Earl and her MAT technique have given me hope that I will be normal again! After only 5 sessions I feel better than I have in two years and I look forward to the continued renewal I have found in MAT.” –Adrienne M

“MAT is an amazing experience. It gives me hope that future rehabilitation for my arm and shoulder fractures is possible.” –Ann M
