Spin® Camp
If you’ve ever wondered what training is like for athletic cyclists, now is your chance to find out. Spin® Camp is an intensive eight-week training program that incorporates cardiovascular science, heart rate based training, cycling-specific exercises, Spinning and total-training philosophy into two jam-packed 75-minute training sessions per week. The program culminates in a final three-hour mock bicycle race.
The key to the success of Spin Camp is its athletic framework. Competitive athletics foster focused training, determination, sacrifice and a desire to excel. Participants are referred to as athletes and the entire camp is directed toward training for the final event. The lessons learned and the results achieved through the process are typically more valuable and longer lasting than anything the participants have attempted before.
Spin Camp is not a weight loss camp, even though weight loss may occur. The trainers do not discuss weight loss or reduced measurements. Participants are treated as athletes from the very start, and the physical results they achieve are secondary to their primary achievement and goal–completion of the final three-hour race. Trainers will discuss ancillary training, proper nutrition, how soon to eat after a training and restorative techniques to promote proper muscle recovery.
Spin Camp was created by Club One’s chief fitness officer, Jim Karanas (also the founder of our Performance Max™ program), and utilizes the training principles set forth by his coach, Johnny G, the founder of Spinning.
