Building Fitness Through Aquatics

Swimming truly is a sport for life. As children, we have a natural affinity for the water, drawn to its beauty, soothing properties, and its potential for pure joy! Whether it’s a trip to the ocean, a lake or a pool, there’s nothing like the exhilaration of kicking, splashing, and jumping around in the water. And as we get older, the therapeutic and fitness benefits of the water continue to draw us in. And for good reason: swimming is one of the most effective non-impact overall body workouts available.

At Club One, we take swimming and aquatics seriously, offering everyone from toddlers to teens, recreational swimmers to elite athletes the opportunity to learn or improve upon their water skills. We offer a full complement of year-round aquatics programs in state-of-the-art, heated indoor and outdoor lap pools. Whether it’s swimming lessons for youths or adults, water and physical therapy programs, water fitness classes, scuba lessons, masters swimming, or simply recreation and relaxation, Club One has the clubs, instruction, and programs that fit your aquatics needs.

Experience the healing power of H2O at Club One. If your current fitness program doesn’t yet include a water workout, we encourage you to add it to your routine. It’s a whole body workout that builds endurance, strength, and leaves you feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. It’s living a life-style of fitness and well-being.

Instruction Programs

Whether you want to learn how to swim, refresh your skills, learn new swimming strokes, train for a triathlon, or rehabilitate after an injury, Club One has the instructors and programs to meet your needs.

Our aquatics staff includes some of the most highly trained instructors in the industry. They bring Red Cross certification and extensive swimming experience to every program.

Adult Lessons

We encourage adults to sign up for swimming lessons with our expert instructors. If you’re a beginning swimmer, you’re never too old to learn! Coaches are also available to help triathletes, competitive, or lap swimmers improve their form and technique. Club One offers group classes for people with similar abilities, private instruction, and semi-private lessons (two adults to one instructor) with a friend or family member.

Masters Swimming

If you’re looking for a new swimming challenge—you’re training for a triathlon or you want to swim competitively with other athletes—our masters swimming program fits the bill. Designed for serious lap swimmers, this year-round program offers participants a chance to improve stroke technique, speed, endurance, and increase overall fitness. Classes are offered during the week at reserved pool times for those who want to swim under the guidance of a coach. Training is varied from practice to practice. Participants must meet minimum swim standards set forth by the coach.

Our Pools

Our pools are 22–25 yards long, range in size from three to 10 lanes, and are heated to 82 degrees for your year-round comfort. We have both deep water pools, suited for lap swimming, and shallow water pools, ideal for swimming lessons, physical therapy, and lap swimming. Lanes are available either on a reserved or unreserved basis for your scheduling convenience, depending on your particular club’s policy. All pools are open for lap swimming, except during scheduled class times.

Club One provides pool users with kickboards and pull boys to make your aquatic workout more challenging. For your comfort, we always offer an unlimited supply of fresh towels.

Some of our outdoor pools feature lush tropical garden settings, relaxing lounge areas, and sunbathing decks and patios equipped with lounge chairs for post-swim relaxation. Come work out, then dip into your favorite book or magazine and soak up the sun. Our indoor pools offer year-round swimming convenience regardless of weather conditions.

Preschool and Youth Programs
Some of our clubs offer swim instruction for preschoolers and youth. Our preschool programs instruct children in water adjustment techniques, water safety skills, and swimming readiness, all in a supportive and encouraging atmosphere. Youth classes are progressive learn-to-swim programs based on American Red Cross standards. Students learn techniques to improve their individual swimming skills, build endurance, and ensure optimal water safety. Classes are offered as group lessons, private instruction, or semi-private lessons (two children to one instructor).

Swimming instruction for children is available at Club One at Almaden Valley, Silver Creek and Brentwood. Please contact the club for specific information on programs and schedules.

Physical Therapy

Physical therapists are available to assist you with injury prevention and rehabilitation at several Club One sites. They combine the disciplines of manual physical therapy, sports chiropractic, athletic training, and hydrotherapy for the aggressive treatment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries. A specific emphasis is placed on injury prevention and assisting each patient in attaining full mobility, stability, strength, and function. They use state-of-the-art therapeutic and rehabilitative techniques and exercises to promote a safe return to activities necessary for home, work, sports, and/or recreation.

On-site physical therapy is available at City Center, Almaden Valley, Silicon Valley and Silver Creek. Contact the fitness manager at the Club One near you for further information.
